Transmasculine is a gender identity used to describe those who were assigned female at birth (AFAB) but identify as a gender closer to the masculine end of the gender spectrum. Transmasculine people may feel that they are not wholly men, but they consider themselves more masculine than feminine and as a result often present themselves in a way they and/or society considers more masculine. Transmasculine may or may not be used as a genderqueer identity.

Transmasculine can be used as an umbrella term that includes masculine-aligned AFAB people and binary trans men in addition to those who do not consider themselves 100% masculine.
